Canteen Menu

The School believes that mealtimes provide an important opportunity for strengthening friendships, exchanging ideas, and enhancing community spirit.

Our catering team are directly employed here at The Catholic High School and with 196 spaces in our dining hall the majority of our students take advantage of our wonderful catering provision. Our modern main kitchen is the base for our highly trained team who serve breakfast from 8.00am sandwiches and savouries at break time and a variety of meals at lunch time ranging from pasta to wraps and more traditional fare.  We aim to source all our produce locally and prepare food fresh for the day it’s consumed. We know the importance of good nutrition and how it contributes to their performance.

We also have a cashless catering system.  The system allows us to continue with the development of the school meal service, whilst providing us with a more efficient, faster and ultimately better quality of service. This system incorporates the latest technology and eliminates the need for pupils to carry cash throughout the day.  It is also biometric (see FAQ’s) so there is no need for pupils to carry a card as the system will recognise the thumb of your child (or a 4 digit number) at the revaluation pay point and at the tills.

All students have an account that they must ensure is in credit if they intend to make a purchase; however all accounts provide an emergency £2.25 loan provision.

Our menu follows a three week cycle ensuring a balanced nutritional offering.  In addition to the menu below we have a pasta bar serving fresh pasta and noodles with a choice of sauces.  We also serve hot jacket potatoes with a variety of fillings, freshly made sandwiches and hot wraps.  In addition, we have a salad bar and a selection of homemade cakes, fruit and a wide selection of hot and cold drinks. We are also open for breakfast from 8am serving cereals, toast and bacon baps.  If any student has a specific dietary need which isn't currently catered for please contact Mrs Hoskins the catering manager via email:  Mrs S Hoskins.
