Teacher of History – Maternity Cover

The governors are seeking an experienced and qualified teacher of History to join the History department from September 2018 as maternity cover.  You will have a proven track record of success in the classroom and must be able to demonstrate the talent, interpersonal and leadership skills required to inspire and motivate students and colleagues.  Above all you must have a passion for your subject and be able to embed an enjoyment of History in your lessons.  The successful applicant must be able to teacher across all key stages including A Level.

The Governors of The Catholic High School, Chester are looking to appoint a Teacher of English from September 2018.  The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and well qualified English teacher who plans and delivers stimulating lessons that enable students to develop their reading, writing and spoken English.

The Governors of The Catholic High School, Chester are recruiting for an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join a small specialist team. The team, led by a highly experienced SENCO, includes an SEN teacher and a team of SEN TAs that work across the entire school and as part of a ASD provision which provides support and care for 15 students, including children that display challenging behaviour, non-verbal, have multiple learning needs and disabilities.  This role will focus specifically on supporting a student who is visually impaired and with cerebral palsy yet confidently working towards increased independence.

This is a challenging but highly rewarding full time role suited to a candidate looking to specialise within secondary phase SEN.

The ideal applicant will have

  • Experience working with Secondary aged children with disability
  • A high standard of communication skills with children or adults
  • Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn
  • A passion for working with children and advocate of inclusive education
  • Knowledge and Commitment to child Safeguarding
  • The commitment and willingness to stay within the role for the entirety of the school year

Leisure Attendant £9.01 per hour, part time 15 hours per week, rotating shift pattern, Monday to Friday 7pm-10pm and Saturday & Sunday 9am-5pm - one week on one week off

Here at The Catholic High School we have an array of facilities that the local community can access. We are therefore seeking a leisure attendant who can provide exceptional customer service to our leisure users. The role includes the supervision of members of the public in all allocated leisure areas and provide on-going cleaning and building set up throughout the shift to provide customers with a safe and clean environment. If you are interested in becoming a teacher and require school experience before applying for a PGCE or School Direct course we are pleased to offer you the opportunity.   

At the Catholic High School, Chester we offer two fortnight periods of work experience at different times of the academic year. The first begins on Monday 17th October 2016 and ends on Friday 28th October 2016. The second period will begin on Monday 5th June 2017 and end on Friday 16th June 2017.

If you are interested in gaining work experience at The Catholic High School during one of those times, please contact the school for an application form. If this application is successful we would require you to have a DBS certificate, which can be organised through the school at a cost of £65.*
