Parent Association

The PA (Parents' Association) has two main aims – to organise enjoyable social events, and to raise money in support of the school.

It provides an opportunity for everyone to work together and is open to all parents, carers and school staff, even those who only have a small amount of time available to get involved.

The PA fundraises for the benefit of every child at The Catholic High School and it is a great way for parents and carers to become more involved with the school. Most recently they raised sufficient funds to purchase a new minibus for the school, and their project for the coming year is to but a new lighting rig for the main school hall.

The current committee includes Mrs Reynolds (chair), Peter Johnston (treasurer) and Ms Trevisan (secretary), with a great supporting group of parents who supply ideas and person-power at events. They are always looking for new volunteers to join the group, either as committee members or as volunteers to help run events.

Events planned for the Autumn Term include a cheese and wine social for new parents in September, meeting parents at the School Open Evening, providing the refreshments for the Year 7 welcome Mass, and the Carol Service in December.  The annual PA Dance night is a highlight in the school calendar.

Summary of PA benefits

  • Raising funds to help school provide extra resources for students – as well as the minibus, this has included sports kit for school teams and mementos for students at the end of Year 11 and Year 13.
  • Running social events for parents and children, providing an opportunity for people to meet and get to know each other
  • Providing support for school trips, outings and other special events

If you are able to offer your support in any way, come along to a meeting or if you are unable to, but would like to help in other ways please get in touch via the school at office@christofidelis.org.uk

PA meetings are held each half term, often in a local pub, and are advertised through the school newsletter and on the website
